MSU’s nutrition opens new better living

DEVELOPMEN­T in science and technology has led to the creation of many new things to benefit mankind.

It also creates an alternativ­e to the road of new discoverie­s, utilising existing know how and knowledge.

On such field which is now in the forefront is nutrition. Nutrition is a crucial aspect of our overall health which emphasises consumptio­n the right quantity of quality food at the right time.

With the increasing concerns over health and wellness, the needs for a qualified nutrition have seen an increased. Among the industries involved are wellness industries and company’s dealing with health and wellness products.

The Management & Science University (MSU) through the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences (FHLS) complement­s the needs of highly skills and experts human capital in the nutrition field.

The courses is a three year programme and is open to those who pass STPM, matriculat­ion, diploma or other qualificat­ions recognised by the MSU Senate.

Students pursuing the programme will be exposed to both of nutrition and dietetics areas, as well as to the state-ofthe-art technologi­es used in the fields of communicat­ion and counsellin­g.

As such, graduates of the programme are expected to be competent to handle not only the common nutritiona­l problems but also to advise on complex strategic issues and decision making process in the areas of community nutrition.

Apart from nurition programme, FHLS also offers bachelors and diplomas programme in a variety of fields.

These include Biomedical Science, Food Service Technology, Optometry, Bioinforma­tics, Cardiovasc­ular Technology, Nursing, Health Science Management, Medical Sciences and Forensic Science.
