Big Bang’s Seungri denies soliciting hookers for investors
SEOUL: Big Bang member Seungri has denied that he has been procuring prostitures for investors in his company.
According to allegations which are being investigated by police, back in 2015, Seungri had allegedly told employees to procure prostitutes for potential investors.
The investors he was targeting were foreign men.
According to South Korean police, it had been alleged that Seungri had told his employees then to buy sexual services for investors from Taiwan.
Publicists for Seungri at YG Entertainment have said in response: “We asked him about the matter and want to confirm that the article is based on fabricated text messages and is false.”
The agency also warned that it will be taking legal action against those spreading false rumours implicating Seungri in the criminal offence.
The report in question claimed to have acquired text messages Seungri had written back in 2015, wherein he told employees to procure prostitutes for investors in his investment company.
The investigation comes after police had investigated Burning Sun, a posh club affiliated with Seungri, for drug use and sexual abuse among patrons. It had been reported that employees at the club had drugged women who were then sexually abused by male patrons.
The club closed down earlier this month.
Seungri had apologised for the scandal during one of the legs of his current tour, which included a stop in Manila in January.
Seungri is expected to start his mandatory military service in the next two months.
