Malaysia Autoshow to generate RM250 million sales, attract 350,000 visitors

CYBERJAYA: The upcoming four-day Malaysia Autoshow 2019, to be held from April 11 to April 14, is expected to generate sales of about RM250 million.

Malaysia Automotive, Robotics and IoT Institute (MARii) chief executive officer (CEO) Datuk Madani Sahari said the auto show, which would be held at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS), was expected to attract 350,000 visitors.

“The Malaysia Autoshow remains as an important component of the annual automotive calendar. It allows for maximum participat­ion of Malaysians in the automotive sector through experienti­al exhibition­s and activities,” he told reporters after the Malaysia Autoshow 2019 soft launch by Internatio­nal Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Darell Leiking in conjunctio­n with ministry’s monthly assembly yesterday.

Themed “Mobility for All”, the 2019 edition will showcase the latest vehicles and also highlight the latest advances in technology, safety and comfort of vehicles sold within the Malaysian market, as well as focusing on the latest industry trend.

Madani said about 100 cars and variants from various original equipment manufactur­ers were expected to be on display, including the newest energyeffi­cient models.

The auto show would also feature Asean’s largest cartuning and lifestyle show series, the Internatio­nal Automodifi­ed, which would showcase modified and customised cars.
