KOTA KINABALU: The Kota Kinabalu Lions Ambulance Service Society (LASS) aims to raise RM200,000 during its ‘Run To Save Life 3.0’ charity run to be held here on July 7.

LASS chairperson Karen Koh said yesterday that the upcoming charity run would be the third series organised by the association.

“In a similar event last year, we had set a RM200,000 collection target but only managed to raise RM140,000. This year, we shall try to achieve the initial collection target of RM200,000 to enable us to cover the association’s operational service costs,” she said at a news conference here.

Koh, who is also is the event organising chairperson, said that currently, LASS has 10 trained personnel and two ambulance vans operating on three shifts.

She disclosed that the association needs an annual fund of RM250,000 to cover its operational costs, including the wages of workers.

She added that the association has set to sign up 2,000 participants for the upcoming charity run this year covering a distance of eight kilometres from SJK(C) Chung Hwa, Likas.

According to her, the registration of participants is now open and the fee for early registration between now and April 30 is RM70.
