Kedah need to get well-prepared against Pahang, JDT

-

ALOR SETAR: Kedah have to work harder in preparing for their encounters with Pahang and JDT when their defence stalwart, Renan Da Silva Alves could not be fielded after receiving a red card in their goalless draw with PKNS FC at Darul Aman Stadium here Saturday.

However coach Aidil Sharin Sahak is confident Kedah could give the table leaders a run for their money with some reshuffling of his squad.

“Renan is a key player but he could not play against Pahang and JDT so I have to go back to the drawing board to reconstruct the team.

“At the same time, I will have to rebuild the confidence of my boys especially against Pahang,” he told reporters after the match.

Kedah will be facing Pahang on March 8 and JDT at the end of March.

In the match against PKNS Saturday night, Renan was ordered out of the pitch after being shown the red card by referee, Mohd Amirul Izwan Yaacob over a rough tackle on Muhammad Faizat Mohamad Ghazali in the 86th minute.

In this regard, Aidil Sharin said Kedah created many chances especially in the second half but luck was not on their side.

Meanwhile, PKNS FC coach Datuk K. Rajagobal said his charges showed commitment in the game to block advances by Kedah.

“Coming here to take one point is good as we succeeded in pressuring Kedah with shot passes and my boys have played well,” he said.

He hoped the team would maintain their momentum to collect three points against Felda United at Shah Alam Stadium on March 8. - Bernama
