KUALA LUMPUR: The Syariah High Court here set April 18 for the widow of former minister, the late Jamaludin Jarjis, to file the reply against the statement of defence over the claim for jointly acquired matrimonial property submitted by her in October last year.

Syarie lawyer Nur Hidayah A. Bakar, representing Jamaludin's mother Aminah Abdullah, 85, said the reply by the defence would be submitted by Jamaludin's widow, Puan Sri Dr Kalsom Ismail, 63, as the plaintiff, against his four children namely Ikwan Hafiz, 32, Nur Anis, 34, Nurul Alyaa, 28, and Noor Adilla, 24, who were the first until fourth defendants.

"Today is set for mention for the claim for matrimonial property by Jamaluddin's widow, Puan Sri Dr Kalsom, as well as the preliminary objection made by the widow and his children against Aminah's application to obtain the faraid certificate,” she said.

The lawyer said this after the case management held in chambers before Syariah High Court Registrar, Siti Zulaiha Mohamad Mansor yesterday.

She said on the same date, the preliminary objection application by Kalsom and the children would be heard before the Syariah High Court Judge on matters regarding Aminah's application to obtain the faraid certificate.
