Penampang PKR Youth football tournament on March 30, 31

KOTA KINABALU: The Penampang Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Youth Wing are calling for teams for its nine-aside football tournament, which will take place at Padang Gawir, Kg Madsiang Penampang from March 30-31.

Tournament spokesperson Remy said entries will be based on first-come-first-serve basis and that they have set a limit of 40 teams for the tournament.

“The tournament is in conjunction with Penampang PKR Carnival at the Kg Madsiang hall.

“Other events taking place are dart competition, karaoke singing contest, lucky draws and there will also be exhibition booths as well as children’s activities,” said Remy, adding that Penampang PKR chief Kenny Chua, who is also Assistant Finance Minister, is expected to grace the event.

For the football event, the champions will take home RM500 and the runners-up RM400 while the third placing RM300. The teams will also received trophies and medals.

Apart from that, the tournament Best Team will also receive RM150 and the Top Scorer and Best Goalkeeper award recipients will get RM50 each.

The closing date for the football competition is on March 23.
