PKR Sabah says respects Osman's decision to join Warisan

-

KOTA KINABALU: PKR Sabah respects Balung assemblyman Datuk Osman Jamal's decision to join Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan).

Its state liaison chief Datuk Christina Liew said the thing that matters most is that Osman has made his decision on which party he wants to join.

“We respect his ‘latest decision'. It is his decision that matters. Whatever reasons he give is irrelevant now,” said Liew when contacted yesterday for comment on Osman joining Warisan.

Osman had been linked to PKR Sabah after resigning from Umno last year.

Speaking to reporters on Monday after handing over the membership application form to Warisan President Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal, Osman said that he applied to join PKR Sabah in May last year.

“Yes I applied to join PKR last year but only on February 24 was I informed by a Sabah PKR leader that my application was approved. By that time I have agreed to join Warisan so I told them it was too late,” he told reporters adding that his status in the last nine months was as an independent assemblyman which was also affirmed by Liew to Shafie.

To the question if Osman's decision to pick Warisan over PKR would affect the two parties' relationship, Liew said “No."

“His (Osman) decision to join Warisan will not affect the good relationship between Warisan and PKR Sabah. It is business as usual for us which is focusing in assisting the Chief Minister to develop the state and working as partners with Warisan

“We have the best Chief Minister now and we will work hard under his leadership,” she said adding, “(time) to move forward… No more politics.”
