Eddie Peng’s latest thriller to feature many shocking effects
BEIJING: Emergency Rescue starring Eddie Peng is replete with many shocking special effects.
Working with him are director Dante Lam and producer Leung Fung Ying, who were behind the success of the blockbuster Operation Red Sea.
Production of the HK$800 million (RM416.5 million) flick in Xiamen is in full swing.
Eddie, who had worked with Dante in four movies, is amazed by the fact that the director is able to see the many different facets of his personality and to zoom in on these during filming.
Eddie is definitely learning a lot about rescue operations.
The film focuses on showing courage in the face of immediate danger, with team members ready to tackle a mind-boggling array of complications to get the job done.
In addition to filming in Xiamen, the crew is also scheduled to shoot scenes in Mexico, at the exact location of the set for the blockbuster Titanic.
This is for some scenes on deep sea rescue.
Also roped in for feedback is Titanic art director Martin Laing, and Oscar-winning cinematographer Peter Pau.
Commented Pau: “The director is very daring, sometimes for some big-scene productions, he would leave the decision of colour and lighting to me while he focuses on the action scenes.”
