100 to attend Inner Wheel AGM March 22-24

KOTA KINABALU: The Inner Wheel Internatio­nal is the biggest Women Service Organizati­on in the world with over 100,000 in many Districts.

District 331 covers 10 Clubs in Malaysia and Singapore.

The objectives are to promote true friendship, to encourage the ideals of personal service, and to foster internatio­nal understand­ing.

Each year, the annual general meeting (AGM) will be held in March and normally organized in the city where the district chairman hails from.

This year the district chairman is Datuk Nancy Ho from the Inner Wheel Club of Kota Kinabalu.

The Club headed by president Rosaria Yong will therefore play host to over 100 members from all over Malaysia and Singapore at the AGM from March 22-24 at Kokol Haven Resort.

The AGM promises to offer a different set-up from the usual affair.

Preparatio­ns have started from August 2018 and the organizing committee headed by Mrs Emmeline Tan has been working hard to showcase Kota Kinabalu which is dubbed “Malaysia’s Favourite Destinatio­n”.

Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Christina Liew, who has been very supportive of the event with her team at the ministry, will officiate at the opening ceremony, which will see a cultural performanc­e and a fashion show featuring local ethnic costumes and creations by local designer Anne Antah.

An accomplish­ed woman entreprene­ur Mary Jim will also have on display her designs and clutch bags.

The gala dinner on March 23 to be graced by the Assistant Minister of Education and Innovation Jenifer Lasimbang.
