Hong Kong students to experience Sabah coeducational life
KOTA KINABALU: Twentyeight secondary students from King Ling College (KLC) in Hong Kong will experience life in Sabah, particularly in Kota Kinabalu City next month.
Under the educational tour programme jointly organised by Sabah-based Borneo Trails Tours and Travel Sdn Bhd and its counterpart in Kuala Lumpur, The Travellers Travel, the students accompanied and supervised by a school teacher will start the visit from April 2 to 6.
Borneo Trails Tours and Travel sales manager Mohd Yunus Sampeh said the organisers prepared a series of interesting and exciting activities to ensure that the young visitors would experience a truly educational tour apart from a memorable and colourful five-day holiday in Sabah.
“Surely our young visitors will be given the opportunity to visit some of our popular tourist attractions .... but what is more important is that they will visit selected educational institutions to see for themselves the life of a co-educational here and acquaintance purposes,” Yunus stressed.
He added the visiting students would also be allowed to attend scheduled school morning assemblies including attending classes for observation purposes as well as given school briefings.
“We will also spoil our visitors with our local native delicacies and other food and not to forget visitations to some of our famous tourist attractions,” the sales manager said.
Among the places the students will visit are La Sally Secondary School; Universiti Malaysia Sabah; Kawa-Kawa Mangrove Forest; Mari-Mari Cultural Village; Tanjung Aru Beach; and State Mosque among others.
The students will also be given the opportunities to experience river cruise trip, and fire flies watching including a visit to the Tuaran Rumah Anak Yatim Dan Miskin.
Yunus said Borneo Trails Tours and Travel would soon be focusing on the promotion of educational tour packages as a strategy to lure students from neighbouring countries to visit Sabah.
