Sabah, Sarawak, KL bowlers vying for supremacy

KOTA KINABALU: Organisers are expecting intense rivalry at the finals of the Datuk Azis Jamman Cup Tenpin Bowling Championsh­ips which will be held at CPS Bowl here, this weekend.

Bowlers from all over Sabah as well as invitees from Sarawak and Kuala Lumpur will be vying for a share of the lucrative prizes up for grabs.

“We will have four categories including the Open, Grade A, Grade B and Youth competitio­ns for men and women.

“Attractive cash prizes are up for grabs in all categories including RM3,000 for the champion in the Open category, RM2,000 for winner on the Grade A, RM1,500 for the champion of Grade B RM1,000 for the Youth champion,” said the tournament’s spokespers­on in a statement here, yesterday.

“The tournament began on March 1 with the qualifying rounds and now all the top bowlers are through to the finals. We expect some intense rivalry in all the categories,” he added.

The finals for the Youth and Grade B categories will be held on Saturday, followed by the Open and Grade A finals on Sunday.

Sepanggar Member of Parliament Datuk Mohd Azis Jamman is expected to officiate at the prize presentati­on and closing ceremony at 7.30pm on Sunday.

The tournament is organised ans sponsored by Dynamic Tours, Travel and Incentive Sdn Bhd.
