KUALA LUMPUR: Bina Darulaman Bhd’s (BDB) property development arm Kedah Holdings Sdn Bhd has launched the latest phase of its Bandar Sejahtera housing project with a gross development value of RM32 million.

BDB, which is majority owned by the Kedah State Development Corporation, said in a statement that the development in Section 8, Bandar Pokok Sena, was expected to meet the housing demand of people living in the area and around Alor Setar.

A total of 70 double-storey terrace houses and 16 doublestorey cluster houses would be developed, priced at between RM300,000 and RM460,000 each. The soft launch of the housing project was held in December last year where the targeted sales percentage was exceeded.

Group chief executive officer Faris Najhan Hashim said the BDB group offered various incentives to the public for any housing purchase with the aim of facilitating home ownership especially among first-time buyers and affordable housing buyers.

“Apart from residential units, we have also opened the registration for two-storey shophouses for business people who are interested,” he said.

Faris disclosed that the BDB group was planning to launch the remaining 61 two-storey terrace and cluster houses this year, thus completing the Bandar Sejahtera Zone 1 development project.

“We view Bandar Sejahtera as a new area with high potential for residential development, allowing us to raise the living standards of the people here,” he said.

Among small-scale housing projects that have been implemented by Kedah Holdings are Kulim Heights Apartment, Taman Nusantara, Taman Lelasari in the outskirts of Kulim, Kuala Kedah and Langgar.

BDB, which is listed on Bursa Malaysia, is involved in activities ranging from property development and construction to golf resort and water theme park operations. — Bernama
