UMS takes part in Asia-Pacific Academic Conference and Exhibition
KOTA KINABALU: The international academic conference and exhibition organized by Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE) held in Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) recenlty received overwhelming support from 2,000 delegates coming from around the world.
University Malaysia Sabah (UMS) was led by its Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and Internationalisation), Prof Dr Rasid Hj Mail Prof Dr Ho Chung Mun.
The theme of APAIE 2019 was Diversity and Inclusivity of Higher Education in the AsiaPacific.
The Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE) was established in Seoul, South Korea in 2004 by a founding committee consisting of 13 university representatives from across the Asia Pacific region, and has since expanded to become a thriving association.
APAIE aims to encourage greater cooperation between institutions, to enrich and support international programmes, activities and exchanges, and to promote the value of international education across the region and beyond.
In doing so, APAIE devotes itself to the principles of mutual respect, diversity and collective progress.
APAIE seeks to bring together international educators, universities and related organisations active in Asia-Pacific higher education to promote communication, networking and professional development.
The association facilitates the exchange and mobility of students, staff and scholars, and the progression of academic collaboration interregionally.
UMS has always been supportive in taking part in any higher education events that promote global collaboration and networking.
