KK Skybridge: Find solution instead of excuses – SAPP

-

KOTA KINABALU: Kota Kinabalu Member of Parliament Chan Foong Hin is trying hard to find excuses for failing to resolve the skybridge problem instead of finding a solution.

Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) information chief Chin Vui Kai said Chan had promised to solve this problem since a year ago but there has been no progress at all and the skybridge remains unresolved.

“Chan had asked SAPP to get the facts right first. I hereby remind him that the fact is nothing has changed and the skybridge project is still left in limbo. Chan said he has read all the documents but it is a puzzle why he did not know the contractor Petrofiq was not paid.

“Chan’s party is the government at both federal and Sabah levels. His party holds the Federal Finance Minister post (UKAS is under the Finance Ministry). Why is Chan not able to secure funding for the completion of the skybridge?”

Chin added Chan’s party had two ministers in the Sabah Cabinet. Both the Pakatan Harapan Api-Api ADUN and KK MP represent the constituencies in which the skybridge is located. The Api-Api assemblywoman is a Deputy Chief Minister in the government which has power over the Kota Kinabalu City Hall (DBKK).

“Chan and his YBs were the ones who promised a solution but now they give excuses.

“The KK MP chose the Tawau water supply issue to raise at Parliament instead of issues affecting Kota Kinabalu City while the Api Api assemblywoman spent time and money on a Campaign Operations Centre at Rantau instead of her own Api-Api Constituency.

“SAPP as a local party feels and shares the anxieties of Sabah people. It is our duty to remind the government party to fulfil its election promises,” said Chin in a statement yesterday.
