Kanesan comes out tops in Sutera golf
KOTA KINABALU: Kanesan Narayanan came out tops in the Sutera Harbour Bi-Monthly Medal Golf Tournament for April at the Sutera Harbour Marina, Golf and Country Club (SHMGCC) last Saturday.
With a score of seven-over 79, Kanesan edged Cho Han Jin by a single shot to lift the Men’s Gross category title. Thomas Chang was third with 88.
In the Ladies Gross category, Korean-born golfers dominated the top three placing namely winner Jang Hye Yeon with 82 followed by Naomi Shin Sung (85) and Han Young Hee (87).
The Nett category contest saw John Ericson clinch the Medal A title with a three-under 69 score while Mohd Safian Saludin with 76 and Azuwaniza Ariffin with 78 settled for second and third placing respectively.
The top three in the Medal B were Richard Stidi @ Lissot with two-under 70 nett, Moon Dong Ju (71 nett) and Kim Gi Young (74 nett).
As for the Medal C, Woo Soo Poon won after playing fiveunder 67 nett and in second place was Kim Min Sun with 69 nett and John Lim in third with 71 nett.
In Ladies nett event, Kim Myung Mi of Korea carded eight-under 64 to beat Eliza Jane Leong by three shots while Kim Yu Ah was third with 68 nett.
The Senior category winner was decided On Countback (OCB) after eventual winner Tsai San Jia and second placing Rayner Amandus were tied at 71 nett. Japanese Tatsumi Koreeda settled for third with 73 nett.
Han Hock Hua claimed the Super Senior title with his score of 66 nett while Bernard Jarrion (69 nett) and Saludin Salam (70 nett) finished second and third respectively.
