Albin, Liew emerge champions
SEMPORNA: Albin Bin Morondiu emerged champion in the Amateur Open Category of the 4x4 Open Challenge organised jointly by the District Council and Raspand Motor Sdn Bhd in conjunction with the Regatta Lepa Silver Jubilee 2019 here recently.
Albian received RM5,000 and MasWings return flight tickets for two persons from Tawau to Tarakan.
Wong Fook Sang came in second and received RM3,000 for his effort, while the third prize of RM2,500 went to Muhammad Rashyid Bin Nasir.
In the standard category, Liew Nyun Sang was the champion and received RM1,000 and MasWings return flight tickets for two persons from Kota Kinabalu to Mulu. Sim Lee Sen and Asna Binti Yennu came in second and third and received RM700 and RM500 cash prizes respectively.
Every winner was also presented with a trophy and a certificate.
Meanwhile, Semporna District Officer, Bianus Kontong, who declared open the event, said the program should be participated by youths from different districts in Sabah as he believed it could foster a more rewarding hobby among them.
He said it was a good platform to strengthen friendship among the competing players apart from preparing them for competition in the future.
Also present were the managing director of Raspand Motor Sdn Bhd Datin Saadiah Binti Haji Abdul Rashad, Managing Director of Nurnielamsari Travel Sdn Bhd Datuk Najib Tay Abdullah, organising chairman Marunda KK Ampong, Semporna Health Department officer Dr. Shameer Khan and other invited guests.
