Qigong association calls on IDS Sabah chief

-

KOTA KINABALU: The Association Of Hwaxia Zhineng Qigong Sabah led by its president, Chong Yun Ming Laoshi, paid a courtesy call on Institute for Development Studies (IDS) Sabah chairman Tan Sri Simon Sipaun recently.

Sipaun was briefed on the nature and practice of Zhineng Qigong; and the objectives, activities and plans of the association.

He was informed that Qigong originated from China, where in ancient times and over a long period, it was found that certain postures, physical movement, breathing techniques and state of mind could have a healing effect on the human bodies, as if there was some mystical power.

Over the centuries, various Qigong practices have been studied, examined, aligned, revised and improved. Today Qigong is firmly established on scientific ground, and Qi power can be harnessed to heal many illnesses, including those considered “hopeless” in the medical context.

As a community-based organization registered with the Ministry of Health, Malaysia, the association is dedicated to the practice and propagation of Zhineng Qigong for health and physical well-being of individuals and communities.

Over the past 20 years, the association has helped thousands improve their health and enjoy better quality of life without expensive medication, or invasive treatment.

Sipaun is very supportive of the association and endeavours, and accepted the invitation to be its patron.

He also agreed to let the association use his premises at Kolombong as a permanent Zhineng Qigong Centre, at nominal rental.
