Wipro Unza to hit RM1billion revenue in six years’ time

-

SHAH ALAM: Wipro Unza Malaysia Sdn Bhd aims to hit RM1 billion in revenue in the next six years from RM600 million recorded last year, driven by the company’s new products launches.

Its chief executive Sriram Krishnamurthy said the company usually have more than 70 products launches per year and on average these new products will take at least three years before they can contribute to the company’s sales.

“Based on our statistics, 35 per cent of our sales derived from products that were launched three years ago,” he told reporters during a media tour at its Subang facility here yesterday.

Sriram noted that the company, which offers a wide portfolio of brands for personal care and household products, has between 30 to 40 per cent regular customers who contribute towards the group’s annual double-digit growth.

“Wipro Unza’s commitment to innovation is the key to our success in delivering leading, high-quality products which cater to the needs of consumers across Asia.

“We have led the way in halal personal care products’ research and innovation, hence establishing ourselves as the market leader in the halal facial skincare market in Malaysia,” said Sriram.

He said Wipro Unza sees Malaysia as an important regional hub for its business, thus the establishment of the Wipro Skin Research and Innovation Centre back in 2013 was a strategic decision.

The group has invested more than RM10 million to establish the centre which enables the company to produce up to 70 new products on average every year, he said.

Meanwhile, Sriram said the group is constantly looking into merger and acquisition across Asia and Africa.

Currently, the group has a balanced-business ratio between India and international markets but it expects the international market will be slightly higher at 54 per cent once the company’s acquisition in the Phillippines is completed.
