SIA students, lecturers invited for film contest
KOTA KINABALU: Students and lecturers of Sabah Institute of Art (SIA) have been invited to participate in the second ChinaSabah Short Film Competition 2019.
Kota Kinabalu Journalists Association (KKJA) chairman Yong Ted Phen paid a courtesy call on SIA president Professor Dato’ Dr Wilson Yong Tung Yung, here to brief the latter about the competition.
Also present at the courtesy call was KKJA secretary Eunice Ng.
The competition is jointly organized by the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Kota Kinabalu and KKJA to commemorate the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties between China and Malaysia this year.
The consulate is giving away RM5,000 cash prize for the Gold Award, followed by RM3,000 and RM2,000 for the Silver Award and Bronze Award respectively.
There is also RM1,000 cash prize for the Best Editing Award and consolation prizes of RM300 each.
The short film competition is open to everyone regardless of age and nationality and the closing date is July 31, 2019.
Content of the film must be appropriate in nature and depicts the enduring friendship, exchanges, traditions or any aspects which portray the good relations between China and Sabah. The films can be of any genre, including, but not limited to, documentary, drama and digital animation.
