Muslim Pro Malaysia overtaking tech giants as top mobile app

-

KUALA LUMPUR: Muslim Pro, a comprehensive Islamic mobile application (app), has emerged as the country’s number one downloaded mobile app at the start of Ramadan, overtaking global tech giants such as Facebook, Whatsapp and Instagram.

In a statement today, Muslim Pro Malaysia said with more than 70 million downloads in over 200 countries, the mobile app’s usage spiked during the holy month, not only in Malaysia but also globally, as more users log in to check Sahur and I ar times, read the Quran and utilise other religious features.

Country manager Nik Emir Din said the mobile app is still seeing a tremendous growth in the number of downloads each day and hoped to end the fasting month with a new record high.

“A lot of preparations were made by Muslim Pro Malaysia coming into the crucial month to strengthen the features of the mobile app and increase the level of engagement.

“This includes the launch of a new content section that features original and curated Islamic lifestyle-related articles and videos to complement our core features of prayer times, the Quran and Qiblat directions, thus completing the experience for users who use the app during Ramadan,” said Nik Emir.

Available on Apple’s App Store and Google Play Store, Muslim Pro is the world’s largest mobile application for Muslims, offering comprehensive religious, lifestyle and community features.

It has opened a local office in Malaysia last year with the mission to further strengthen the brand and market presence in the country, as Malaysians account for about a tenth of its overall user base.

Muslim Pro has partnered with major brands such as Boost, Shopee, Zurich Malaysia and Senheng throughout Ramadan to offer users special promotional price for its Premium subscriptions via both online and offline channels. - Bernama
