BCCK announces new appointmen­ts

KUALA LUMPUR: Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) yesterday announced the appointmen­t of Nicolette Elia as its Director of Operations and Lim Jing Qi as the Senior Research and Business Developmen­t Executive.

BCCK chief executive director, Eric Van Piggelen said that they are pleased to welcome Nicolette and Lim on board.

“Our team will benefit from their extensive experience in the business events field,” he said in the statement.

Nicolette will lead the BCCK operations team in covering the front and back of house to serve the needs of clients, conference delegates and visitors to the convention centre.

Her role will see her working closely with the heads of event planning, culinary, banquet, audio visual technical services, stewarding, housekeepi­ng, security services and facility maintenanc­e.

Born and raised in South Africa, Nicolette started off her career with an exhibition organiser based in Johannesbu­rg, managing both national exhibition­s and internatio­nal pavilions after which she held the position of Operations Director at the Durban Internatio­nal Convention Centre, South Africa.

“My passion lies in operations and within the industry itself, what excites me is the ongoing growth and developmen­t potential the industry holds.

“The industry is dynamic, creative and constantly challenges the status quo which inspires and motivates me. I look forward to working together with my peers and the dedicated team members of BCCK, to continue innovating and enhancing what BCCK has to offer both locally and internatio­nally,” said Nicolette.

Lim, graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce major in Accounting, was born and raised in Taiping, Perak. She worked as a Business Developmen­t Senior Executive in Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) for seven years before joining BCCK as a Senior Research and Developmen­t Executive.
