KK Nerf Wars at KK Indoor Market next month

-

KOTA KINABALU: Most children today are unable to play outside due to small backyard, or living in high-rise buildings.

This is the main reason Awang Ikhwan came up with the idea of starting KK Nerf Wars, to promote indoor team building activity - where parents and children can spend their time planning ‘a proper fun battle’ in a ‘war zone’.

“Nerf wars is a soft bullets game which is mostly played outdoor. However, we are bringing this game indoors next month at the KK Indoor Market in ITCC Penampang.

“We want children and their parents to participate in this fun game, because we want to create gadget-free activity so that children will enjoy physical movement instead of playing with their phones using fingers,” said Awang Ikhwan.

KK Indoor Market, organized by KK Legasi will be held at ITCC Penampang on November 2 and 3 from 10 am to 10 pm.

Apart from 70 vendors participating in selling various products, many other activities have been planned for visitors and their children to enjoy.

Founder of KK Legasi, Irwan Iswandy said since KK Indoor Market is focusing on family quality time, they will also take the opportunity to raise awareness on reducing waste.

“We are encouraging visitors to bring their own shopping bags and food containers. We are hoping this will help us to reduce single use plastic.

“One of our vendors has committed to sponsor this campaign by giving away their handmade products to 30 winners who bring their own packaging during the event and share their opinion why we should reduce our waste, on social media,” he said.

The organizer has briefed vendors to consider reducing plastic in their packaging, and also to start raising awareness on social media to educate their potential visitors.

Irwan said this is their first time having such campaign and hoped the public will get the message and start to understand the importance of reducing waste.

“As parents, the crew of KK Legasi is hoping everyone will benefit from the activities that we have planned and we hope everyone will go home from the event with a smile, and better bond with their loved ones,” he said.
