List of fake news relating to Covid-19
KUALA LUMPUR: Following is the list of denials issued by the relevant agencies to the Quick Response Team of the Communications and Multimedia Ministry on fake news relating to Covid-19 which went viralled on social media sites yesterday.
1. Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) denies allegations that payments using cards have been frozen for non-essential business from March 27 until the end of the Movement Control Order (MCO).
2. Segamat Hospital, Johor denies allegations on the use of its wards to accommodate Covid-19 patients as the hospital has been gazetted as a screening hospital for nonCovid-19 patients.
3. The National Security Council (MKN) has denied allegations of a posting related to the sales of bundle clothing belonging to dead Covid-19 victims.
4. National Security Council denied allegations that Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, Senior Minister (Security Cluster) had announced a list of areas in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur which would be involved under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO).
5. The Health Ministry denied that Kampung Pandan, Desa Pandan and Taman Maluri were declared as ‘red zone’ when a Rohingya man of Kampung Pandan was suspected of being infected with COVID-19, and sent to Sungai Buloh Hospital.

Sarawak State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) refuted the statement of a person who was allegedly ordered by the Datuk Temenggong to obtain the personal information of villagers at Kampung No. 3 in Kuching and its surrounding areas for a meeting with Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas on a possible lockdown in Kampung No. 3, Kampung No. 4 and Kampung No. 6.
