KOTA KINABALU: The Federation of Chinese Associations Sabah (FCAS) in collaboration with Yee Lee Trading Sdn Bhd on Monday handed over 100 cartons of drinking water and five cartons of Sabah Tea bags to the Sabah Police Contingent, in support of police personnel who are fighting Covid-19 in the frontlines.

The relief items sponsored by Yee Lee Trading Sdn Bhd were handed over by FCAS president Tan Sri T.C Goh at the police headquarters in Kepayan to Deputy Commissioner of Police Dato Mazli Bin Mazlan, who was accompanied by Director of Administration Zabidi, Sabah Traffic Police Chief Mohammad Zanzuri and Sabah Police Administration Chief Douglas.

Goh was accompanied by FCAS treasurer-general David Chan and vice president Fung Chun Fatt. Also present at the ceremony was advisor of Yee Lee Trading Sdn Bhd, MC Goh and its Kota Kinabalu branch manager Chew Ming Fong.

In his brief speech, Goh who is also the president of the Federation of Malaysia Chinese Associations (Huazong) explained that the move was part of the ongoing nationwide fund-raising campaign spearheaded by Huazong in aid of those fighting Covid-19 in the frontlines throughout the country.

He hoped that the bottled drinking water and tea bags would help to hydrate those police personnel who are working in the frontlines during the ongoing Movement Control Order (MCO) period which has been extended from April 1 to 14.

Meanwhile, on behalf of the Royal Malaysian Police, Mazli thanked FCAS and Yee Lee for their contribution to the Sabah police contingent. Mazli also praised Goh who was a former police officer, for not forgetting police personnel who are currently on duty in frontlines to enforce the MCO. He also commended Yee Lee for carrying out its corporate social responsibility in this difficult time.
