Food aid distribution in stages – Azis

-

SEPANGGAR: Distribution of dry food in the Sepanggar parliamentary constituency continued yesterday since the Movement Control Order (MCO) was enforced nationwide.

Its member of parliament, Datuk Mohd Azis Jamman said 1,500 packets of food were in the process of packing at the Sepanggar parliament service centre for further distribution. Food was distributed in stages yesterday, targeting 500 families, sent directly to their homes so as to limit movement.

3,000 food packets have been distributed and 1,500 more were to be sent out yesterday.

He added that the aid would be given to those who had provided household details to the Sepanggar Parliament Service Centre office.

“For those who are eligible to receive food packets, they can still provide details via WhatsApp, through Sepanggar Parliament Service Centre officers or by filling in an online form.

“As for those who have registered but not received aid, we assure that you will receive it as we are distributing by turns. Transport to distribute food packets is also limited,” said Azis.

He urged the public to remain at home and abide by the MCO.

He assured that Sepanggar Parliament Service Centre would assist as many people as possible, with priority given to targeted groups, namely senior citizens, disabled persons, the sick, single mothers and those whose income is badly affected by the MCO.

Yesterday, Azis joined Sepanggar Parliament Service Centre officers to distribute food packets in Kampung Tatahan, Kampung Tampasak and Kampung Tamalang Silou.

Food packets will continue to be distributed today.
