Batu Sapi MP facing difficulty sending food to villagers

-

SANDAKAN: Batu Sapi Member of Parliament Datuk Liew Vui Keong said that his parliament office is facing difficulty to send food supply to all families in need due to lack of personnel, vehicles and boats to reach the villages.

“However, I promise that we will try our best to ensure that the people of Batu Sapi receive the assistance during this difficult time,” he said.

Liew has been in his constituency since the Movement Control Order started on March 18 so that he could coordinate assistance to be delivered to the people.

Batu Sapi has about 33 villages, not including seven islands that have a lot of villages.

“Surely, during this time, the P.185 Batu Sapi Parliament Office is facing difficulty such as when getting food supplies from suppliers and so on. Nevertheless, we hope all will be patient and wait for your turn to receive the assistance. I promise that I will do my best for the people of Batu Sapi in this matter,” he said.

During MCO, Liew has been concerned with the welfare of the people here and has initiated to provide assistance to families in need, which is different than the aids that are distributed by assemblymen which are funded by the State Government.

This is because, even without a position in the Federal and State Cabinet, Liew still carries out his duty as an MP with his own effort and initiative for the welfare of the people in Batu Sapi.

He said he is not selective when giving out assistance, and would try his best to provide food and financial aid to all.

Referring to a Facebook live video that he has posted that said Covid-19 is not selective when infecting the people, Liew said that he is also not selective when giving out assistance.
