Mr. D.I.Y joins mission to aid frontliners
KUALA LUMPUR: Home improvement retailer MR. D.I.Y is assisting The Edge Covid-19 Fund to source for 35,000 personal protective equipment (PPE) suits and one million three-ply face masks for Malaysia.
MR. D.I.Y. Group (M) Berhad managing director Adrian Ong said in helping healthcare frontliners in their fight against Covid-19, the company had also purchased an additional 1,000 PPE suits to donate to healthcare professionals here.
MR. D.I.Y will also be providing its logistics teams and delivery fleet to distribute this medical safety equipment to more than 30 hospitals in the country, together with three nongovernmental organisations -- Mercy Malaysia, IMARETIslamic Medical Association of Malaysia and Malaysian Relief Agency.
“This special humanitarian mission is Corporate Malaysia's way of giving back, in a very tangible way, to support the heroes at the frontline against Covid-19.
“This outbreak is a sobering reminder of the personal sacrifices these brave men and women are making in their tireless efforts to protect us. I wish to thank the team at MR. D.I.Y. who had worked under tight deadlines to coordinate the purchase of the items, the logistics and distribution to the hospitals, NGOs and other public services,” he said in a statement yesterday.
