KOTA KINABALU: Likas assemblyman Tan Lee Fatt urged the people of Likas to contact his office so they can be included in the second phase of food aid distribution.

He said the people can call or send a WhatsApp message or SMS to the office at +6019 8533683.

“Give particulars such as mame, MyKad number, address and handphone number. The first batch of food aid was distributed 1,000 families in 25 areas in Likas constituency such as Taman Keramat, Jalan Bantayan, Kg Likas and even to Sabah Cheshire Home Centre on March 28 to 29,” he said.

“Hopefully, the food aid can provide some assistance in terms of food to poor families, people with disabilities, old folks and others. The food aid consists of rice, canned food, sugar, cooking oil, biscuits and others.

“I also would like to thank the UPPM (Community Development Leader Unit) staff as they were willing to risk their life during this difficult time. I also advised the staff to wear masks, wash their hands with soap and keep a distance from other people while distributing the food aid,” added Tan.

He reiterated the Sabah government announced a RM670 million coronavirus disease Covid-19 Aid Package on March 25.

“RM18 million is for groups affected by the Covid-19 and MCO (Movement Control Order). I received a lot of calls regarding the RM500 one-off cash payment to each household,” said Tan.

“For your information, the payment will be done automatically for those who are registered in the e-Kasih system. For inquiries, the public can also call the Rural Development Ministry office at +6088 254316.

“As for the cash aid, contact Bantuan Prihatin Nasional (BPN). The public can check their status or apply through these websites; www.hasil.gov.my, bsh. hasil.gov.my and www.treasury.gov. my,” he concluded.
