395 more illegals deported
KOTA KINABALU: The National Security Council (NSC) deported 395 more illegal immigrants back to their country of origin yesterday.
National Security Council (Sabah) director Siti Saleha bt Habib Yussof said the illegal immigrants were deported back to Zambonga, the Philippines on an MV Antonia ship from the Sandakan port on July 3.
Siti Saleha said yesterday’s deportations was the 20th in their series for this year.
She said NSC had deported 4,751 illegal immigrants from Indonesia and the Philippines since the operation began. She added that in light of the global Covid-19 pandemic, every individual deported would be screened before deportation to prevent the spread of the virus.
