PPE for 15 schools in four districts

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah China Chamber of Commerce (SCCC) has donated 9,000 pieces of face masks, 470 face shields, 66 bottles of hand sanitizer and 15 thermomete­rs to 15 schools in Papar, Tenom, Tambunan and Kudat.

SCCC president Datuk Frankie Liew handed over the personal protective equipment (PPE) to the Board of Governors and headmaster­s of the schools here yesterday.

The beneficiar­ies are SJK(C) Phui Ying, SJK(C) Tsi Sin, SJK(C) Kong Min, SJK(C) Yuk

Nam, SJK(C) Yuk Syn, SJK(C) Chi Vun, SJK(C) Yuk Hwa and Tenom Tshung Tsin Secondary School from Tenom; SJK(C) Yuh Min, Tambunan; SJK(C) Sen Ming, SJK(C) Tung Shan, SJK(C) St Joseph, SJK(C) Kin

Kiau and SJK(C) Cheng Ming from Papar; and SJK(C) Hwa Lian, Kudat.

The chamber has donated more than 100,000 pieces of face masks, 1,500 face shields, 500 bottles of hand sanitizer, 100 units of thermomete­rs and 5,000 Covid-19 test kits to schools, frontliner­s, charity organizati­ons and religious bodies since April 17.

Liew hoped that the PPE would protect the teachers and students against Covid-19 and ensure a safe environmen­t in schools.

The recipients have expressed their gratitude to SCCC for the protective equipment.
