MCO flouter fined RM2,600

KOTA KINABALU: A man was fined a total of RM2,600 by the Magistrate's Court here yesterday for moving to a local infection area and purposely not complying with the instruction given by a policeman under the Movement Control Order.

Magistrate Stephanie Sherron Abbie imposed the fine on the accused after he pleaded guilty to both his charges under Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Rules 2020.

On the first count, the accused was fined RM800, in default, one week in jail for not staying at home by moving from Likas to Inanam on April 10.

The accused received another RM1,800 fine, in default, two weeks in jail for his second count of not complying the cop's instruction in Inanam on the same day.
