KOTA KINABALU: Tuaran Umno chief Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Dahlan has again expressed his concern over the RM7 billion project announced in Meruntum, Lok Kawi.

He also wanted to know what was the outcome of investment projects announced by the Warisan-led State Government since it came into power.

“While we discuss the status of the announcements after announcements made by the Warisan government, let's ask the Warisan government to give us the "status update" on several other unresolved issues,” the Umno Supreme Council member said.

Among them are the construction of a deep-sea port facility in Kudat; conversion of the Sandakan Palm Oil Industrial Cluster into a furniture hub; ending the legal dispute with Prestasi Pelangi on the timber concession owned by the Sabah Forestries Industries; ending the legal dispute on the termination of the water concession contract with several companies; and, resolving the legal dispute on the termination of service contracts of CEOs in Sabah GLCs.

On the investment announcements made by Warisan since they formed the state government, Abdul Rahman said some of them were the RM2 billion investment from China, creating 3,000 job opportunities; RM13 billion investment from Burel Industries Sdn Bhd, petrochemical plant in Lahad Datu POIC; RM20 billion MoU signed by the Chief Minister with the governor of Jiangxi province in China on real estate, glass manufacturing industry; RM5.2 billion of 175km railway track from Kota Kinabalu to Kudat; and a RM3 billion investment by the Sabah Foundation and a Chinese investor in the glass manufacturing industry.
