Tawau frontliners receive mineral water, instant noodles

-

TAWAU: Commanding officer of the 516 Regiment of the Territorial Army for East Coast, Brigadier General Tan Sri Datuk Liew Yun Fah deeply cares about the people adversely affected by the MCO but it will be even more dangerous if the attention is focused on the economy rather than health, safety, property and life.

He understood that the pressure felt by the people after having to stay at home in compliance with the MCO, especially the business operators who have been experiencing sales decline. He was also aware that some people had been forced to change their daily routines, while others had to stay away from their families and loved ones.

He told the media after contributing 10,000 bottles of mineral water and 100 boxes of instant noodles from major of honor Datuk Jimmy Pang to the frontliners of Tawau Hospital.

“I hope those who are capable can step up their efforts to join hands with the government in overcoming this epidemic.

“In this regard, I also thank the King for declaring Emergency until August 1 which shows that he cares for the people. However, I strongly urge all people to avoid gatherings and keep personal hygiene and social distance at all times,” Liew further expressed.

Meanwhile, deputy director of Tawau hospital Dr Azman Ibrahim also expressed his gratitude to Liew and Jimmy for their generosity and love for the front liners.

He said this was a good role model and he hoped other NGOs will follow the track as breaking the chain of Covid-19 is not just the responsibility of the front liners but also the nation.

During the call, Azman also returned four vans to Liew, that have been lent to the hospital without charges for transporting front liners previously.
