DBKK announces new hours for businesses

KOTA KINABALU: The City Hall (DBKK) has announced the new operating hours for selected businesses under its jurisdicti­on during the January 13 to 26 Movement Control Order (MCO) period.

Eateries like restaurant­s and cafes are allowed to operate for takeaway or drive-through services only from 6 am to 8 pm, while dine-in is strictly prohibited.

Grocery stores, convenienc­e stores, hypermarke­ts and mini markets, telecommun­ication equipment services and sales centers, sale of vehicle spare parts, tire shops and vehicle workshops, sale of fertilizer­s and agricultur­al materials, pharmacies and drug stores, launderett­es and gas stations are also allowed to operate between 6 am and 8 pm.

Meanwhile, wholesale markets, are allowed to operate from 12:01 am to 6 am, and day markets in buildings with hawkers, food stalls and food trucks, are allowed to operate from 6 am to 2 pm.

Night markets, tamu markets and farmer's market are not allowed to operate during the new MCO period.

Food delivery services are allowed to operate from 6 am to 9 pm, car wash centres can operate between 6 am and 6 pm, whilst petshops and hardware shops are allowed to operate from 8 am to 8 pm.

Furniture shops, gold shops, electrical and electronic shops, book and stationary shops, and car distributi­on and sales centres can operate between 8 am to 5 pm.

Hotels and accommodat­ion are allowed to open but gyms, swimming pools, dining halls, seminar rooms and others must be closed to the people.

Hospitals, government, private clinics, medical laboratori­es, and animal clinics are allowed to operate 24 hours or according to its allowed licensed operating hours.
