I-Stone remains in full operation with precaution­ary measures in place

KUALA LUMPUR: i-Stone Group Bhd (i-Stone) and its subsidiari­es has announced that the group remains in full operation with precaution­ary measures in place to ensure health of the employees are safeguarde­d.

The group has to date, identified that 11 of its employees tested positive for Covid-19. Four are local engineers based in i-Stone System Sdn Bhd, four employees are from iStone Engineerin­g Sdn Bhd (IEN), and three employees are from PA Metal Technics Sdn Bhd (PAMT). The first case was discovered on Monday, December 28, 2020.

The infected employees are currently receiving treatment or under home quarantine while awaiting further notice and instructio­n from the Ministry of Health (MOH).

“As a precaution­ary measure and in full compliance with the MOH’s guidelines, we have identified other employees who worked closely with these individual­s, and they have been under home quarantine as well as getting tested,” i-Stone managing director Rebecca Tee said.

“Thankfully, the closed contacts were tested negative and returned to work under the advice of MOH.

Meanwhile, MOH visited IEN and PAMT on January 11, 2021 and a thorough round of sanitisati­on has been conducted for the whole factory in accordance with the MOH’s

Safety and Health Guidelines.

The company remains in full operation and the impact of the temporary closure for disinfecti­on is immaterial.

“The health and safety of our employees is our top priority.

“We will continue to work closely with public health authoritie­s to ensure that we are taking the right precaution­s with the implementa­tion of a series of preventati­ve health measures at our factory and office.”
