Last week, a landslide occurred at KM127.7 of Jalan PaitanKanibungan in Paitan causing the road and the Paitan water treatment plant’s staff quarters to collapse.

“The experts will determine the budget of the project as much technical work is needed,” he said, adding that Paitan’s sub-district office has been instructed to call for a meeting with all relevant agencies to discuss the landslide.

“I also want the Geology Department, Land and Survey Department and Drainage and Irrigation Department to be involved in the meeting as I want the matter to be resolved within the next five months,” he said.

The collapsed road has affected the economy of the rakyat, he said, adding that many oil palm smallholders were unable to send their harvest to refineries to be processed.
