Four new cases detected from Pasai Cluster in Sibu

KUCHING: The Pasai Cluster in Sibu recorded four new Covid19 positive cases yesterday, bringing the number of cumulative cases to 2,363, said Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).

In its daily update yesterday, the committee said a total of 25,500 individual­s from the cluster had been screened, of whom 22,815 tested negative for Covid-19, and 322 still awaiting laboratory test results.

“The Seruas Cluster in Beluru, the Sebangkoi Cluster in Sri Aman, and the Tabong Cluster in Bau each recorded two new Covid-19 positive cases – bringing the number of cumulative cases for these clusters to 118,” it said.

A total of 167 individual­s had been screened under the Seruas Cluster – 62 of them tested negative for Covid-19, and 44 still awaiting laboratory test results.

For the Sebangkoi Cluster, SDMC said a total of 447 individual­s had undergone swab-tests, of whom 267 tested negative for the virus and 157 still awaiting laboratory test results.

“Under the Tabong Cluster, 250 individual­s had undergone screening – 180 of them tested negative for Covid-19, and 36 still awaiting laboratory test results.”

SDMC said apart from these clusters, Sarawak still had 11 other active clusters – the Rakut Cluster in Miri with 156 cases; Bah Sayap Cluster in Miri with 96 cases; Jelita Cluster in Miri with 56 cases; Stutong Cluster in Kuching with 41 cases; Bukit Sekubong Cluster in Sebauh with 33 cases; Jalan Pengiran Cluster in Matu with 23 cases; Indah Riang Cluster in Kuching with 21 cases; Jun Heng Cluster in Bintulu with a total of 20 cases; Bedayan Cluster in Serian with 17 cases; Keranji Tabuan Cluster in Kuching with 15 cases; and the Bintang Daily Cluster in Meradong with nine cases.
