KINABALU: Four students of SJK(C) Yue Min Penampang received mobile devices to help with online learning.

The students, Bryan Lo Jia Wei, Davrielle Raegine David Lee, Jenet Lo Yi Jiun and Ivan Theo Joshua Marnika, were from primary four, five and six. Two of them received mobile phones while another two received tablets.

Yue Min principal Kho Chin Leung said the devices were donated to deserving students to allow them a better learning experience.

Davrielle Raegine, from class 5H, was happy to receive the tablet and said it would improve her studying experience tremendously.

“I feel more encouraged and excited to study now with a better device. This will make it easier for me to do school work,” she said.

Her mother Regina also said they were very grateful to receive the device and that her children can now study more conducively.

“Before this, Davrielle would have to share my phone with her younger sibling for online lessons. This was a challenge because I also needed my phone for work. With this tablet, they can definitely study better and focus on their lessons,” said Regina.

In addition to the four devices, the school also received two wheelchairs. The items were donated by Mohd Ikhsan Helzy from Pertubuhan Kasih Umat Malaysia and businessman Danny Chin.

Also present at the handover ceremony was Kapayan PPM Unit chief Lu Yen Tung, Yue Min school management board secretary Dexter Lim Ming Guan, and UMS Investment Holdings Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Dr Rafiq Idris.
