KOTA KINABALU: Organic food and vegetables are gaining popularity as customers become more health conscious, said United Sabah Chinese Communities Association of Kota Kinabalu (USCCAKK) president Datuk Susan Wong Siew Guen.

She was pleased to see an increasing number of retail outlets and online shops offering organic food to make these products more accessible to the public.

Susan said this after officiating at the opening of Pasar 33 in Foh Sang here yesterday.

Wong said Pasar 33 was unique as the store mainly sold organic vegetables and fruits, ecofriendly dishwashing liquid and floor detergent as well as frozen seafood.

She added that Pasar 33 also carries frozen deboned milkfish produced by her son, Jonathan Wong, and KK Cool drinking water manufactured by her daughter Melissa Wong's company.

Aside from its physical store, Pasar 33 provides online purchase option and delivery service for customers.

“This is greatly convenient for consumers as they could purchase fresh organic food without having to leave their homes, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic and Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) period.”

Impressed by the concept of the mini market, Wong has invited Pasar 33 to open another outlet at Benoni Commercial Centre in Papar.

Benoni Commercial Centre is developed by the WSG Group, which Wong helms as the managing director of the company.

Present at the opening ceremony were directors of Pasar 33, namely Prof Dato' Sri Dr Mike Chan, Edwin Lim, Tommy Liaw, Lim Chen Ming, Shelley Lo and Ricky Lee.
