Parents ready to send children to schools

-

LAHAD DATU: The reopening of schools on March 1 has received positive feedback from parents.

After undergoing home-based teaching and learning (PdPR) since the implementation of series of Movement Control Order (MCO) in 2020 and 2021, the news of schools reopening brings excitement to the students.

For Henry Nurdin, as schools will reopen soon, he will be focusing more on the safety of his children while at school.

Henry said apart from providing face mask and sanitizer for his children, his family has already made early preparation by educating them on the safety measures needed to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

“About school equipment such as uniforms and others, we have yet to make any purchase and my kids also agree to use the old ones as they understood our concern, and that school may be closed again if there is another spike in Covid-19 cases,” he said.

Meanwhile, Ridzal Abdullah said apart from making preparation for school equipment, he also spent some time to persuade his daughter to accept the change from PdPR to school session.

Ridzal said after undergoing PdPR at home, his daughter will surely be reluctant to attend class although she keeps saying that she is excited to meet her friends.

“My wife and I also keep reminding her on the precautions that she needs to do while at school as the Covid-19 pandemic has yet to end.

“I believe that school management will definitely take care of our children while at school but it is also parents’ responsibility to equip the children with necessary knowledge about the pandemic and the dos and don’ts while at school,” he added.
