Association donates to orphanage in Ranau
KOTA KINABALU: There were police road blocks, albeit with the permits in hand, and narrowwinded roads to contend with but it was a Sunday well spent by the management committee of Pertubuhan Jaringan Kebajikan Anak-Anak Yatim Sabah (PJKAYS) when they made a debut visit to Rumah Anak Yatim (RAY) & Asnaf, Kg Silad in Ranau recently.
The visit’s objectives were to donate food stuff and personal items to the 40 orphans who are registered with the home and engaging with the management and children to share PJKAYS focus and action plans in 2021.
PJKAYS president, Datuk Eddie Abdullah said they took the opportunity to highlight areas where both the organization could work together for the benefit of the orphans, who also deserve the best in life.
RAY & Asnaf Kg Silad Ranau chairman, Ustaz Haji Hainin bin Abdullah, who received the PJKAYS contingent along with his staff and several children, expressed his deep appreciation to PJKAYS for making the visit despite the current hurdles during the present movement control order and the like.
He looked forward to working together in mutual activities in the future.
PJKAYS was registered with the Registrar of Societies in April 2019 with the noble aim of assisting in complementing the efforts of others in improving the lives of orphaned and disadvantaged children irrespective of race or creed through a network of support services relating to furthering their education and skills training as well as providing guidance and counselling on the holistic development of orphaned children to enable them to lead productive, dignified adult lives.
In spite of its short history, PJKAYS had hosted Ramadhan treats and handed out many donations to orphanages and underprivileged families as well as carried out several outreach and motivational programmes with orphanages in Kota Kinabalu, Tambunan, Tawau and Bundu Tuhan since its inception.
