LDP Luyang division elects chairman
KOTA KINABALU: Joseph Kong Yin Jee was elected as the chairman of Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) Luyang division in its Annual General Meeting (AGM) here yesterday.
The division also resolved to nominate Datuk Chin Su Phin and Datuk Yong Wui Chung for the president and deputy president’s posts in the upcoming party election.
The division’s AGM was conducted via video conferencing, in which the team led by Kong was elected unopposed.
Kong said the Luyang division had passed the only motion at the meeting, which was to nominate Chin and Yong, who is the incumbent party president and secretary-general, for the top two leadership posts.
He said the division would be reinvigorated with a line-up of young leaders for the new term.
“All the elected committee members are younger than 40 years old, who will bring a breath of fresh air to the division.
“In the next three years, we will transform Luyang division into a multimedia hub.
“We will also organize a series of multimedia, graphic design, photography, film making and other training courses and activities.” He believed that such activities and the young leadership of Luyang division would attract more youths to join LDP.
Also present at the virtual meeting were LDP assistant secretary general cum Election Committee representative David Ong, chief publicity officer Simon Chin and Central Youth Movement leader Sim Fui.
