Maxis strengthens one stop cloud solution capabilities with latest acqui-hire

-

KUCHING: In its latest move to strengthen its position as Malaysia’s leading converged solutions company, Maxis has announced the acquihire of Peering One Sdn Bhd, a Malaysian-based cloud solutions company specialising in hybrid and private cloud managed services.

The acqui-hire reinforces Maxis’ capabilities as a one stop, end-to-end cloud solutions provider, with complete cloud offerings that address the full spectrum of business needs.

The acqui-hire of peering one is primarily for their pool of strong cloud professional specialists, customer base and market position, which will further boost Maxis’ capacity and capabilities to offer bestin-class Private and Hybrid Cloud solutions.

“The integration of peering One into our team at Maxis is a big milestone in our journey to be the market leading cloud solutions provider for our customers, and further deepens our domain expertise.

“It is a reinforcement of our commitment to support the government’s MyDIGITAL initiative to transform Malaysia into a regional leader in the digital economy, and in bringing the best of people and technologies to enable businesses and the nation to always be ahead,” said Maxis’ chief enterprise business officer Paul McManus.

Peering One has more than 10 years’ experience in providing Managed Cloud and

ICT services to Enterprise customers across Malaysia.

This is Maxis’ second acqui-hire in the cloud space, following the successful integration of Infrastructure Consulting & Managed Services (ICMS), a Microsoft Gold Business Partner with strong competencies across Azure Cloud Solutions, Modern Workplace and Security, back in April 2020.

“Since 2010, Peering One has grown its presence significantly in the Malaysian cloud market, with an extensive customer base across multiple industries. We are pleased and excited to join the Maxis family.

“United by our ambition to empower more Malaysian businesses to leverage the cloud to achieve their digital aspirations, I believe this is best accomplished together with the dynamic team at Maxis Business,” said Wong Chee Voon, managing director of Peering One.

Maxis can now provide an enhanced end-to-end Cloud Managed Services through a single touch point for customers to enjoy upfront cost savings and flexibility to scale their cloud consumption needs through a ‘pay-as-youuse’ model.

This is augmented by a 24x7 monitoring and support services via Maxis’ Cloud Network Operations Centre (NOC) to ensure a worry-free experience. Maxis will also expand its in-country Hosted Cloud footprint through

Peering One’s existing strategic partnerships with Tier 3 Data Centres, addressing customers’ growing requirements for data privacy, security and sovereignty.

These new solutions will be

integrated into Maxis’ current offerings and delivered over its leading converged mobile and fixed network in Malaysia.

In addition to ICMS, the latest acqui-hire of Peering One also follows other acqui-hires by Maxis, including Optima Innovations in June 2018 for eCommerce capabilities and Audeonet (M) Sdn Bhd in December 2020 for voice and unified communications solutions.
