Sabah needs variety in human capital — Hajiji
KOTA KINABALU: Sabah needs variety in human capital to spur the state economic growth, in line with the Sabah Maju Jaya direction (halatuju) said Chief Miniser, Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor.
He said that because of that, human development in Sabah is not focused only on a certain field because Sabah needs experts who are highly skilled in other fields.
He said that the Sabah government prioritises on education aspects that produce more human capital that are competitive, skilled and possess high quality in Sabah.
He added that this was in line with the SMJ Halatuju development plan whereby human capital aspects are among those focused on.
“The government shall continue supporting all efforts of the Malaysia Education Ministry and the Sabah Education Department to raise excellence in education and programmes related to human capital development in Sabah,” said Hajiji who was represented by assistant Minister to the Chief Minister, Datuk Abidin Mandingkir, during the launch of the Borneo zone World School Milk Day 2023 at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) on Tuesday.
According to him, the aspect of education and human capital are among the main agenda that is stressed upon by the Sabah government in driving Sabah’s development.
Hajiji said that human capital excellence and quality is important to ensure the success of various government policies, agendas and development programmes towards reaching a higher stage in the state’s development.
He also said that the government hopes pupils benefit from the school milk programme and added that it wants to produce a new generation that is strong, tough and smart.
