Anifah to share experience­s in developing Sabah

KOTA KINABALU: The newly appointed Internatio­nal Relations and Foreign Investment­s advisor to the Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Panglima Anifah Aman, is willing to share his experience­s as a former Foreign Minister in achieving the Sabah Maju Jaya vision.

He said this in a statement on Tuesday, following the appointmen­t, and thanked Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor for trusting him in the important position.

“The Chief Minister understand­s how important internatio­nal relations is in achieving the vision of Sabah Maju Jaya, especially in how the strengthen­ing of internatio­nal relations can help bring in foreign investment­s to Sabah.

“My appointmen­t shows that the Chief Minister is a visionary leader because by engaging in internatio­nal relations, he is bringing Sabah into the limelight. We have much to offer, especially to foreign investors.

“Now that the State Government is further empowered in line with the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63), it is high time we take the opportunit­y in engaging with foreign nations and get foreign companies to invest in Sabah,” he said.

Anifah added as a former Foreign Minister he is willing to share his experience­s and also honoured to work with Hajiji for the positive developmen­t of Sabah.

“I will also do my best to advise the Chief Minister on any matters pertaining to internatio­nal relations and to boost Sabah’s image as an investor-friendly state,” he concluded.

Anifah, 69, who is also the former Kimanis member of parliament, received the appointmen­t from Hajiji at the latter’s office at Menara Kinabalu on Monday.

Hajiji is confident that with Anifah’s appointmen­t since he has vast experience in internatio­nal relations, will help the Sabah government to forge good ties with foreign nations and investors, in line with the investor friendly policy.
