Siti moved by praise of her AR Rahman concert performanc­e

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s top songstress Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza took to Instagram to thank her fan’s kind wishes praising her outstandin­g performanc­e at the AR Rahman concert on Saturday.

In an Instagram video posted yesterday featuring the singer getting ready backstage, the 43year-old expressed her gratitude for the opportunit­y of a lifetime.

“Woke up this morning touched to read the writings and comments on social media regarding my performanc­e at the AR Rahman concert last night,” the singer wrote in the caption.

“I try to give the best not only for myself but for fans, audiences, and of course for Malaysia.”

She added that working with the Academy Award-winning composer was one of her ‘wishlist achievemen­ts’ and was honoured to finally fulfil her wish.

“When I received the email from AR Rahman, I didn’t need to think and immediatel­y accepted his invitation because I knew no matter what area we are in, we have our wishlist.

“One of it for me was achieved at the AR Rahman concert.”

Siti serenaded the crowd during the two-hour mark at the AR Rahman – Secret of Success: Live in Malaysia 2023’ concert in National Stadium, Bukit Jalil.

The artist wowed Malaysian concertgoe­rs with a duet of the popular Tamil song Munbe Vaa, receiving a standing ovation afterwards.

Online commenters were impressed with Siti’s ability to sing in Tamil and spur the audience with her powerful vocals.

In another Instagram post, Siti revealed that 2023 will be her 27th year in the music industry and she wanted to begin on “a note that dreams do come true”.

“Thank you to all concertgoe­rs at Bukit Jalil National Stadium who gave me the spirit to sing Munbe Vaa. You are all the best!” she wrote. — Malay Mail
