Entreprene­urs attend SIPMA talk on proper pest management

KOTA KINABALU: Chairman Mervin Liew of the Sabah Integrated Pest Management Associatio­n (SIPMA) at the Entreprene­ur Alliance Summit at Hakka Hall Likas shared his slide presentati­ons to more than 130 entreprene­urs on the importance of having proper Pest Management and to advise them in their daily business operation.

In his presentati­on, he said business owners should seriously integrate pest management in each of their businesses.

This will instil consumer confidence in the quality of their products and protect their business reputation­s while adhere to federal, state, local government, enforcemen­t, and health authoritie­s’ laws to avoid legal consequenc­es.

By doing so, this could also assist in creating an ecosystem of a cleaner, pest-free environmen­t, good health while giving peace of mind to their consumers and the public as a whole.

This will certainly benefit their own businesses too with higher sales as consumer is convince of their products & services while fulfilling their social responsibi­lity for Sabah community as a whole.

Mervin Liew also has mentioned that only legitimate and licensed pest control operator in Sabah can register as members as an assurance to the community.

He said that entreprene­urs must do their due diligence to check the credential­s and legality of their existing pest control operators.

Many unscrupulo­us individual­s take advantage by providing services without proper training, experience, legitimate certificat­ions, or even in disguise.

This is especially true in an era where anyone could easily access social media and Canva an online graphic design app.

Entreprene­urs could risk facing losses if authoritie­s come to inspect their business premise.

They can get an assurance on the legality of a pest control operator they are currently with.
