Motivational speakers mesmerise Don Bosco’s children

-

KOTA KINABALU: Motivational speakers from Pertubuhan Jaringan Kebajikan AnakAnak Yatim Sabah (PJKAYS) mesmerised some 40 children at Don Bosco Children’s Home at Bundu Tuhan near Kundasang last Saturday with their captivative and inspirational topics at the NGO’s first outreach and motivational programme in 2024.

The young audience listened in awe and were soaked with excitement as the empathic speakers shared the various proven approaches which can be adapted and practised with self-discipline to create their own path towards chasing one’s dreams.

Examples of many successful people who were orphans or hailed from disadvanatged backgrounds further stretched the young audience’s imagination further as the speakers reinforced the logical circle that anyone can realise their full potentials provided one is prepared to embed passion and hardwork into their daily regime.

Each speaker encouraged and tested the minds of their enthusiastic audience to explore their natural curiosity and help with ideas on developing their confidences through knowing oneself as a way of getting the motivation to navigate their life journey ahead.

PJKAYS President Datuk Eddie Abdullah, who led an entourage of his committee members to the programme, was delighted with the interactive approach as it provided checks for understanding the topics and questions from the audience throughout the sessions.

“We will continue to conduct these outreach and motivational programmes in collaboration with the various orphanages and charity homes in Sabah as a way of triggering and empowering the disadvantaged children into successful careers and enjoying dignified adult lives. We believe that everyone regardless of their background can be successful and enjoy the best in life,” he added.

Eddie also thanked the speakers who volunteered their time and knowledge to the session last Saturday.

They were Dr Fairrul Kadir, a deputy dean from UMS and PJKAYS Deputy Secretary II; Ir. Chan Ling Ket, an independent consultant; and Kol. Haji Herman Bombang, an aide to the Sabah Head of State and PJKAYS Deputy Secretary I, with a special mention of their generous sponsor, Kenny Ronald Ngalin, the managing director of Ocean Vantage Holdings Berhad.

Don Bosco Children’s Home supervisor, Sister Clarice George expressed her deep appreciation to Eddie and PJKAYS for bringing the outreach session to them, adding that she found the half-day programme very educational and useful indeed for the young home residents whose age ranges from seven to 17 years.

She also received a donation from PJKAYS to Don Bosco in the form of a desktop computer and a printer as well as muchneeded food stuff.
