SUCCC to assist ACCCIM in hosting entrepreneurs convention

-

KOTA KINABALU: The Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM) will be hosting the 17th World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention scheduled to be held from Sept 9–11 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

More than 4,000 entrepreneurs from around the world are scheduled to take part in the event to explore new business opportunities, establish networks and foster economic cooperation.

As the high-profile convention approaches, the Sabah and Labuan United Chinese Chamber of Commerce (SUCCC) has passed a series of resolutions at their recent board meeting to actively participate in and support the preparations for the convention.

SUCCC President Tan Sri Andrew Liew said they have set up a special team to actively assist ACCCIM in hosting the event.

“This team will be responsible for coordinating and collaborating with the ACCCIM team to ensure that all preparations are carried out in an orderly manner to achieve the best arrangement,” he said.

He said this in-depth collaborative initiative helps to ensure that SUCCC can fully exert cohesion at the event and bring positive changes to the business environment in Sabah.

“SUCCC will go all out to ensure that Sabah’s delegation can showcase the potential business opportunity the State has to offer.

“This not only reflects the importance the SUCCC attaches to the event, but also shows the ability to make full use of the event to lead our local entrepreneurs towards creating new business opportunities,” he said.

In addition, Liew hopes for support from the State Government and believes that with close cooperation, more opportunities and a better environment can be created for the local business.

He said the SUCCC will also collaborate with the Sabah Tourism Board in attracting participants of the 17th World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention to visit Sabah.

“This will bring huge economic benefits to the State while enhancing Sabah’s influence in the international business arena.

“We hope the State Government can work together with us in seeking common development that will further demonstrate its commitment to local and international business collaboration,” he said. He said the international convention will open a new chapter for business development in Sabah and Labuan. “With the support of the State Government, we look forward to joining hands with entrepreneurs from all over the world to work together in creating a better future for businesses,” he said.
